About verifylocal

Building the verification rails
for local commerce.

Local businesses spend over $200 billion a year on advertising they can't measure — and the creators their customers actually listen to have no honest way to get paid for the customers they drive. We close both gaps with one mechanism: a verification model where what businesses pay is driven by the new customers measurably brought through the door.

Our story

Performance marketing solved attribution for e-commerce. The physical world has no equivalent.

Reviews get gamed. Foot traffic gets faked. Click attribution stops at the door. The independent businesses that hold neighborhoods together don't have an honest way to show what's actually working — and the creators their customers trust have no way to get paid for it.

So local owners spend on Google and Meta ads without ever knowing if the spend brought a single customer in. Cautious ones underspend out of fear. Aggressive ones overspend and burn cash. Nobody trusts the channel.

We started VerifyLocal to fix the checkable part: one verified visit, one neighborhood at a time — and to build the commercial model that finally aligns local owners, creators, and the verification layer underneath.

What we're building

Proof you can audit. Not a feed you have to trust.

01 / DRIVE

Creators who actually move customers.

Local creators promote the business to audiences that walk in, not just scroll past. One creator, one business, one durable record.

02 / VERIFY AT ANY SIGNAL LEVEL

Public baseline is the floor. Deeper signals are strongly recommended.

Public real-time and historical activity data establish a counterfactual baseline for every business in our network — enough on its own to verify lift, with zero onboarding friction. Businesses may opt in to deeper signals (on-site sensor, POS access, delivery feed); we strongly recommend it, because deeper signals make the lift unambiguous and prevent disputes.

03 / SIGN

Every verified visit, cryptographically signed.

Each visit is signed and hash-anchored — tamper-evident regardless of which signals are connected. The integrity of the record survives any single platform.

04 / TRUST

A reputation layer that's earned.

Verified visits accumulate into trust scores tied to real records — for both businesses and the creators who drive them. A creator's footprint score gives businesses a basis for matching with the right creators, and a business's record becomes something a neighborhood — and eventually, every major LLM answering “who's the best near me?” — can check.

How we get paid

Local businesses pay a percentage of the revenue from the customers we drive. Nothing else.

No impressions billed. No clicks. Pay is tied to measured lift — a percentage of the incremental revenue. If a campaign underperforms, we collect only a 5% platform fee; we earn in full only when it delivers. We win when you win.

Businesses operating on public baseline data alone accept a small premium that covers the dispute risk that comes with ambiguous lift signals. Businesses that share deeper signals — sensor, POS, delivery feed — make the lift unambiguous and remove the premium. Either way, onboarding is friction-free, and the economic incentive points clearly toward deeper data partnership over time.

This is the unlock. Marketing spend stops being a fear-based decision and becomes a clean ROI calculation. Every dollar a business pays us is tied to a verified new customer they wouldn't otherwise have had. Owners become willing to spend more, because we only win when they win.

Zero onboarding friction. Aligned by design.

The bigger picture

The verified record today. The trust layer of local commerce tomorrow.

Every signed visit is a verifiable fact about that business — foot traffic patterns, transaction sizes, repeat customer rates, peak hours, service durations. Across thousands of businesses, this becomes one of the most accurate ground-truth datasets of local commerce.

Every major LLM today is guessing at local. Within a few years, they will need a verifiable source to answer “who's the best [X] near me?” honestly. VerifyLocal is building to be that source. The performance business funds the network; the dataset compounds underneath it.

VerifyLocal LLC’s platform is supported by a portfolio of U.S. provisional patent applications filed April–May 2026 by inventor Tony (Xiaotong) Wang, PhD, Intelligent Systems Control & Design — covering AI inference orchestration with Trust Token escrow, IoT-verified foot traffic and Local Trust / Footprint Scoring, cross-platform attribution with hash-chain integrity, and the Trust Badge publication and reputation-monitoring layer. The applications are assigned to VerifyLocal LLC, with a consolidated non-provisional filing targeted for April 2027.
